The idea of creating THORAX HEART was born in the light of covering and treating acute heart attacks as well as cardiothoracic surgical diseases in the most appropriate way. In this context, a modern Cardiothoracic Surgery Center was set up based on international standards, which includes the Hemodynamic Laboratory, the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The Hemodynamic Laboratory is equipped with the state-of-the-art ARTIS ZEE medical equipment, which provides the ability to perform any diagnostic and surgical procedure for coronary and peripheral arteries, valves as well as for the placement of permanent pacemakers. Complex interventions are performed with the assistance of materials of high specifications and modern techniques [bifurcation lesions, chronic total obstructions, heavily calcified lesions-rotablator, IABP, ECMO, etc.].

The laboratory has been staffed with experienced and highly specialized medical and paramedical personnel to guarantee non-stop smooth operation of the Center. Acute myocardial infarction patients are received and managed on a 24-hour basis for their immediate and appropriate treatment (primary angioplasty).

Respecting international guidelines for correct and applicable infarction treatment, we place great emphasis on direct coronary and primary angioplasty, which is guaranteed by the great experience of our staff as well as the modern equipment of the laboratory. In order to ensure immediate and safe patient transfer, we have a fully equipped mobile unit, which is always headed by an experienced cardiologist of our Hospital.

The operation of the Hemodynamic Laboratory is supported by a state-of-the-art Coronary Care Unit (4-bed capacity) and an Intensive Care Unit (12-bed capacity), and provides direct cardiovascular coverage 24 hours a day.

The Department of Cardiology has 31-bed capacity with the possibility of central monitoring and hospitalization of patients with heart failure, arrhythmias, and angina as well as patients in postoperative and post-infarction phase.

Regular Interventional Cardiology, Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Clinics are run on a weekly basis.
